Graham
W Thomas - Director
Graham Thomas has worked within the financial
services sector for 21 years and for the majority
of this time he has specialised in Personal and
Corporate Pensions together with UK and Offshore
based Investments. He has passed the general Financial
Planning Certificate, the Pensions (G60) paper
of the Advanced Financial Planning Certificate
and the Pension Professional Investment Certificate
of the Institute of Bankers. As a main Speaker
at workshops and seminars, Graham has spoken extensively
on the use of Pension Products and topical industry
issues. This has included subjects such as Stakeholder
Pensions, the Government’s recent overhaul
of Pension legislation introduced through the
new pensions tax regime and Inheritance Tax. Graham
is the registered Pension Transfer Specialist
for the firm with the Financial Services Authority.
In view of Graham’s experience and knowledge,
he predominantly deals with clients who require
Pension, Investment and Inheritance Tax mitigation
advice.
Having established in 1999 a successful independent
practice based in Chelmsford, Graham decided in
April 2006 to bring together his expertise with
Gerald Edelman Chartered Accountants to provide
high quality advice to clients.

Colin
R Burns FCA CTA - Director
Colin qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1981.
Immediately he specialised in taxation matters
and was admitted to The Chartered Institute of
Taxation in 1985. Having worked for Gerald Edelman
Chartered Accountants since 1976, Colin was admitted
to partnership in 1986 and in 1987 jointly founded
Gerald Edelman PLC (now Gerald Edelman Wealth
Management Ltd) to formalise the provision of
tax efficient investment advice to clients of
Gerald Edelman.
Colin and Graham jointly established Genesis Financial
Solutions Ltd in April 2006 to provide other Accountants
and Solicitors access to high quality financial
services advice. Colin continues to advise on
tax efficient investments and care for the tax
affairs of investment active clients whilst servicing
his own portfolio of clients. These include many
property trading, investment and development companies.

Andrew
Wiffen – Associate Director
Andrew Wiffen has been an Independent Financial
Adviser for over 18 years working the majority
of this time within the Pension’s Unit of
a National firm of Independent Financial Advisers.
Over the last eight years he has been involved
in providing advice to Pension Scheme Trustees
and Employers in all aspects of running Occupational
Pension Schemes. Andrew also advises employers
in the provision of employee benefit packages,
Group Life Assurance arrangements, Sickness &
Disability cover and Group Private Medical Insurance.
He also has passed the Pensions (G60) and the
Taxation and Trusts (G10) papers of the Advanced
Financial Planning Certificate.

Andrew
Chaplin – Associate Director
Andrew joined the Norwich Union in 1988 and worked
in a sales support environment on Individual and
Group pensions, protection, regular savings and
investments. He then moved into a consultant role
with Norwich Union before joining Scottish Equitable
in 1997. Whilst at Scottish Equitable he took
up a senior administration role and ran the newly
established local office in Cambridge for two
years before returning to Chelmsford as Assistant
Sales Support Manager. Andrew became an IFA in
March 2005 working closely in a support role with
Graham Thomas and also advising a select portfolio
of clients. Andrew has the Financial Planning
Certificate and his specialist areas include investments
and both personal and corporate protection to
complement the specialist nature of the firm.
