Gerald Edelman completes acquisition of a majority stake in WTT
Leading mid-tier accounting and advisory firm, Gerald Edelman, is pleased to announce the acquisition of WTT, a provider of consulting and advisory services focused on the contracting industry.
WTT has established itself as a key player in the contracting industry, offering a range of services across tax, legal and advisory. These include tax planning for individual contractors and advice for corporates engaging contractors through personal service companies along with deep expertise in tax investigations from a wide range of practice areas.
Carl Lundberg, Partner at Gerald Edelman commented, “Gerald Edelman’s acquisition of a majority interest in WTT provides us with access to the market-leading tax investigation advisory services provided by the team at WTT and enables WTT and their client base access to the wider services offered by Gerald Edelman. The acquisition aligns with our mission to think beyond accountancy by expanding our suite of services to add more value to existing clients and reach new ones.”
WTT’s Managing Director, Rhys Thomas, who has retained a material stake in the firm, will play a pivotal role in the post-acquisition landscape. Thomas’s ambitious plans for WTT, coupled with the synergy between the two firms, positions the acquisition as a strategic move towards substantial future growth.
The acquisition opens avenues for cross-collaboration between client bases, enhancing the services offered by both firms. This includes tax investigation services, accounting and basic taxation services for specific client segments, VAT, corporate finance, and other advisory services.
“We see immense potential in combining forces with Gerald Edelman,” says Rhys Thomas, Managing Director at WTT. “This partnership will leverage our respective strengths, enabling us to offer a more comprehensive suite of services and expertise for our clients.”
