Laura Albiston

I work closely with clients to prepare for and advise on transactions, including selling or buying a business or raising capital. My job is to build trust and ensure they are supported throughout the process to minimise disruption on their day-to-day lives. I enjoy turning objectives into successful outcomes for our clients, helping them navigate what is often a significant professional and personal milestone.

As part of the Deal Advisory team, my role is to advise clients on every stage of their M&A process from setting objectives to deal completion. I work to develop a detailed understanding of each of our clients’ businesses to ensure we provide them with appropriate advice to assess their options. The team collaborates closely to deliver a high-quality, client-centric service to ensure we consistently meet our client’s objectives.

I joined GE in March 2025 following a move to the UK from New Zealand. In New Zealand I worked in the Corporate Finance team at PwC for five years, working in deal advisory on buy and sell side transactions across a wide range of sectors and deal sizes. During this time, I also gained my Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification.

What is the most exciting thing on your bucket list?

I love travelling and going and seeing the pyramids in Egypt is high on the list!

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

The ability to fly would be great! I wouldn’t have to get on the tube each morning or brave the 30-hour journey back to visit family in New Zealand.

What one piece of advice would you give your 10-year-old self?

To not worry so much – everything happens for a reason!

If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be?

Dan Carter – as a big All Blacks fan, I would love to re-live the 2011 and 2015 rugby world cups with him and his other favourite career moments.
