Vicky Brown

I work within our company secretarial team, supporting and assisting clients with a wide range of tasks.

Our team is regularly involved with incorporating new companies and LLPs, changes to boards, share transfers, striking off applications, and more. Clients are likely to see my name pop up in their inboxes in connection with anything from standard annual compliance filings to a complex share reorganisation.

I am an Associate Director in the company secretarial department. My role is very client-focussed and varied. I enjoy being regularly involved in all kinds of tasks from incorporations to striking off applications – and almost everything in between. Part of my role is also to assist with the smooth running of the department – we are lucky to have such a great, close-knit team.

I graduated from Imperial College London with a degree in Biology in 2015, and I was fortunate to gain some company secretarial experience in my first office role. I joined Gerald Edelman in 2017 and pursued the Chartered Secretaries Qualifying Programme, studying through evenings and weekends before gaining Chartered status in 2021.

What is the most daring thing you’ve ever done?

Probably attempting a show jumping round on a very energetic pocket-rocket of a horse – she had springs in her hooves, and we flew over every jump to make a clear round.

What one piece of advice would you give your 10-year-old self?

Never be afraid to ask – you never know what you might learn from the answer and the only silly question is the one you don’t raise. If you don’t ask, the answer is always ‘no’.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

I would quite like Rapunzel’s hair from Tangled – healing powers, youthfulness and a handy night-light all in one!

Who inspires you?

My grandparents – they are a great team and simply the most positive and resilient people, never without a smile and always with the kettle on.
