Gerald Edelman’s Deal Advisory team has advised on the sale of Alma Rail
Gerald Edelman is delighted to announce that its Deal Advisory team has advised the shareholders of Alma Rail Limited (Alma), a leading UK-based railway track and civil engineering company, on the sale to RDCP Infrastructure, a construction engineering group (part of London-based investment conglomerate, RDCP Group). Pricing and other deal terms have not been disclosed.
Alma is a leading, RISQS-approved UK railway track maintenance company, offering track engineering, civil engineering and construction services to the rail industry. Alma was co-founded in 2009 by Managing Director, Richard Walker, who has successfully grown the business, now working with a range of blue-chip customers such as VolkerRail, Arriva TrainCare and Breedon Group.
Through this acquisition, Alma will join a wider construction engineering group, RDCP Infrastructure, backed by London investment company, RDCP Group. Alma will receive strategic and operational guidance from RDCP’s experienced team, providing an excellent opportunity to leverage its strong reputation and capitalise on its growth prospects.
Richard Walker, Managing Director of Alma, commented:
‘Since 2009, Alma Rail has built a reputation for engineering excellence with a core team of track and civils experts and we engaged the team at Gerald Edelman to find the right partner to take the company to the next level. In RDCP Infrastructure, we feel we have found a partner that matches our ambitions and high standards and can provide the support to realise the full potential of Alma Rail. The whole team at Alma Rail are very excited about this deal and are looking forward to working with RDCP.
I would like to thank the team at Gerald Edelman for their hard work throughout this process and for finding us the perfect partner. The preparation work that they did before we started talking to potential partners meant the due diligence process was as smooth as it could have been. Additionally, their expertise and immensely valuable advice ensured that we were able execute a deal with a structure that worked well for the company and shareholders. For any business owners who are considering selling their business, I would highly recommend the services of Gerald Edelman.’
Nick Wallis, Partner in Gerald Edelman’s Deal Advisory team, added:
‘We are delighted to have advised on this successful transaction. Whilst we remain sector agnostic, our experience in the rail sector continues to grow! The completion of this deal has demonstrated our team’s ability to structure and negotiate deals that work for our clients, even in difficult macroeconomic conditions. We are confident that, with the support of RDCP Group, Alma will continue to succeed, and we wish Richard and the team at Alma every success in the future.’
