Gerald Edelman is delighted to announce that its Corporate Finance team has successfully advised the shareholders of an independent special educational needs (SEN) school (the “Company”), on its sale to a leading independent school group (the “Acquirer”).

The Company has quickly built a strong reputation among parents, carers, and local authorities as a nurturing and highly personalised specialist school. Through small class sizes, a multi-sensory curriculum, and dedicated therapeutic support including speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, and emotional literacy support, its multi-disciplinary approach has helped pupils to thrive both academically and personally.

The Company will continue to operate with the existing leadership and staff team remaining in place, to ensure continuity for pupils, families, and the wider school community as it enters its next phase of growth.

Gerald Edelman acted as lead sell-side adviser to the shareholders of the Company throughout the transaction.

The CEO and Founder of the Company, commented:

“It has been a privilege to watch the Company grow into a place where so many children have been able to thrive. This makes me incredibly proud of the journey so far. This next step ensures that the school can continue to provide the highest quality of care and education to our pupils, backed by a partner who shares our values and ambition.

I couldn’t recommend the team at Gerald Edelman highly enough. They took the time to understand what mattered most to us throughout this process, and their support and guidance were invaluable in helping us reach an outcome we are delighted with.”

Jack Bettell, Associate Director at Gerald Edelman, added:

“It has been a pleasure to advise the shareholders of the Company on this transaction. Our primary objective was to secure a partnership that would uphold the school’s culture and pupil-centred approach while providing the resources and expertise to support its continued growth.

We are confident that the Company is well positioned for continued success and wish the Company and Acquirer every success for the future.

We were delighted to work alongside Bernard Gordon & Co and VWV to support the sellers on this transaction.”
