HOW WE CARE
Corporate Responsibility
At Gerald Edelman, business is never ‘just business’
We hold ourselves accountable for having a positive impact on our environment and wider society. This means setting high standards as a socially responsible organisation. Learn more about our corporate responsibility initiatives below!
HAVING A POSITIVE IMPACT
Committed to sustainability
Gerald Edelman launched its Sustainability Committee in 2021 with a core mission in mind:
To lead the way to a more sustainable future by inspiring stakeholders to make changes that have a positive impact on the planet.
Focusing on client success and growth isn’t enough for our business. Our growth must be achieved sustainably and in a way that isn’t damaging to the environment in which we live and work. That’s why we’ve set near-term company-wide emission reductions in line with climate science with the SBTi.
We’re focussing on
Achieving zero waste to landfill
A wholesale shift to renewable energy suppliers
Implementing processes to reduce our business travel and homeworking emissions
Establishing management systems and forms of travel that are environmentally friendly
Applying to become a B Corp to meet high standards of social and environmental performance
EMPOWERING OUR PEOPLE
Diversity, Equality and Inclusion
We are committed to creating a culture of inclusion where everyone feels welcomed and respected, regardless of their background. Our DEI Strategy ensures our workplace is and remains inclusive and welcoming. Below are the three pillars that drive our strategy. If you have any questions about our commitment to DEI, contact hello@geraldedelman.com.
Inclusive culture
We are undertaking initiatives focused on creating an inclusive workplace, where all employees feel valued. This includes training and upskilling our team on key DEI themes, such as unconscious bias.
Promotion and development
We are creating a promotion and development process that is clearly communicated and is underpinned by clear, robust and fair processes and decision-making – so that all employees have an equal chance to progress.
Data and measurement
We are collecting and reviewing data on DEI metrics to track our progress and identify areas for improvement. We see DEI as an ongoing process, not a destination.
SUPPORTING THE COMMUNITY
The Gerald Edelman Foundation
The Gerald Edelman Foundation is proud to partner with London Youth!
Our mission? To make a positive impact on children and young people, helping them to reach new heights.
We believe that all children and young people should have access to the same opportunities and be given the very best chance to achieve their goals and aspirations.
Prioritising mental wellbeing
Mental health has been described as the next global epidemic.
With millions of individuals still waiting for care and treatment in the aftermath of the pandemic, the urgency for mental health services and intervention has grown rapidly.
In light of this, we have formed a committee through which Gerald Edelman can combat the stigma of mental health in the workplace and support the psychological wellbeing of every member of staff within our organisation.
We have also designated a team of mental health first-aiders and ambassadors that are responsible for creating a safe open space for employees to discuss their mental wellbeing without fear of reproach.
In order to help us achieve our goals, we partner with Work Life Well, who guide our committee in initiatives, provide access to an online academy and host monthly workshops for our team.
