Estate planning: How we help you plan for your future

Estate planning: Mitigating inheritance tax the simple way

When providing guidance, I always try to imagine that I am the client and consider what, in their shoes, I would like from my adviser, and use this methodology to construct the most suitable tax strategies.

I aim to build and maintain strong, personal relationships with my clients and let them know that I am happy to assist with anything they may need, whether that be recommendations for other professional advisers such as lawyers or estate agents, or simply a good restaurant!

My work mainly focuses on providing tax advice to clients, from high net worth individuals and personal tax clients to non-resident landlord companies on all matters relating to tax. With proactive tax planning, I help to minimise exposure to Corporation Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax and income tax. I also regularly advise clients on property tax structuring with UK and offshore structures. I have experience across a broad range of sectors including property, financial services and technology.

I graduated with a degree in Business Management (Accounting) from Brunel University and went on to become a member of the Associate of Taxation Technicians in 2011 and qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 2013.

What is the most daring thing you’ve ever done?

A few years ago, a group of us at Gerald Edelman decided that we would climb Mount Kilimanjaro. It was an exhausting but incredible experience, and definitely slightly terrifying at times!

What is the most exciting thing on your bucket list?

I’ve always dreamt of taking a sabbatical and travelling the world with my family for a few months – we would have such amazing adventures and create some fantastic memories.

What one piece of advice would you give your 10-year-old self?

Make the most of every opportunity presented to you. Work hard and most of all enjoy life!

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

I would love the ability to clone myself – I’d never have to miss any of life’s special moments.
