I am passionate about supporting clients with their company compliance, but the real buzz is supporting clients to grow their businesses from inception right the way through to exit, ensuring that the business is structured in the right way. I also assist with any tax planning opportunities that make a tangible difference to the individuals involved. I have worked in practice since 2009 and have come across many different types of businesses and business owners, especially on the OMB front. I like to work with family businesses by understanding the dynamic of the family and how this impacts the business now and in the future.
My role within Gerald Edelman is within the Business Services Department, where I personally feel we are the life blood of the Firm. We are essentially general practitioners – like doctors, we maintain the client relationship, manage all routine matters, and identify key issues as they arise. When specialised advice is needed, we either handle it ourselves or refer the matter to colleagues in other departments who are best placed to assist.

I left university in 2009 and worked in a superb local practice for 13/14 years who made me who I am today. I qualified as a chartered accountant in 2013 passing all exams first time apart from the last one (1 mark!)…6 months later it was done and dusted and off into the accountancy world I went, managing people and clients for the Managing Director. I became a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in 2018 and obtained my Practicing Certificate in 2023. I joined Gerald Edelman in 2023 within the Business Services Department, with the challenge of new systems and new relationships in the city! Gerald Edelman has a great team feel, with all skills any business could need under one roof, literally! Gerald Edelman has enabled me to establish new personal relationships with clients, which is where I thrive and get most enjoyment. There is a wealth of experience within the Firm so everyday is a school day in this industry.
What is the most daring thing you’ve ever done?
Going to university! I took a year out and went to a random university where I didn’t know a single person. Best decision I ever made!
Other than that, getting a paper round where my mum dared me to get one and said she would give me £1 if I did!
What one piece of advice would you give your 10-year-old self?
Focus on yourself, learn from people around you and be confident in your own ability.
If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be?
My mum, we lost her too early and would love to ask her for advice and for her to meet my children.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Bernard’s watch (old tv programme), but essentially to pause time. Life moves so fast, so to pause to take a breath would be great, especially with two young children at home!
