Lender of the Year - Triple Point

This Lender of the Year Award goes to a team that builds strong, trusted relationships with searchers, focusing not just on the deal but on the people behind it. Our judges found that Triple Point offer the right level of flexibility to suit each deal. Their approach is specifically adapted for entrepreneur-led acquisitions, with a real emphasis on cultural fit. Their due diligence looks beyond the numbers, focusing on leadership credentials, resilience, and experience. They run a quick and efficient process, made possible by building relationships with searchers well before a deal is on the table. This gives them the time to truly understand each entrepreneur’s investment thesis. They act as a genuine partner to the firms they support, valuing long-term relationships and maintaining regular engagement and touchpoints long after the initial funding. They also support a diverse portfolio of operators and are known for unlocking acquisitions that might not otherwise happen.

Deal of the Year (Self-Funded) - Black Fox Invest

Black Fox Invest have broken new ground and done it with courage, creativity, and a real commitment to making things happen. Black Fox Invest is the first of its kind in Sweden — structured like a search fund with traditional search fund economics. When they started out, hardly anyone in Sweden had heard of this type of structure. There was no roadmap, no one to call for advice — so they had to educate brokers, advisers, and investors along the way. This meant that a self-funded search was the only option. And they did it. In fact, most of their investors are Swedish, which makes this achievement even more impressive. The team faced plenty of skepticism early on, but they kept going — patiently explaining, building trust, and showing that this model could work in the Swedish market. The judges were particularly impressed by their innovative approach to financing, especially during the due diligence phase. What’s really inspiring is that they didn’t stop once the deal was done. Black Fox Invest has already identified strong opportunities for growth — from exploring new customer segments and partnerships to adapting to changing regulations. And through it all, they’ve stayed true to their roots — keeping their operations in a small Swedish town, providing local jobs, and investing in training and development for their employees. They’ve shown that you can grow and innovate while still giving back to your community.

Deal of the Year (Traditional) - Aqua Capital Partners

What made this deal exceptional was how it was negotiated — competing directly against private equity funds, yet still reaching a structure that was fair, creative, and mutually beneficial for both buyer and sellers. The team secured favourable bank financing — something rare in the tech space, where tangible assets are limited. The deal was cleverly structured through a MidCo, allowing for debt pledging while protecting investors at the holding level. Even better, the two original owners reinvested around 14% in the transaction, showing real confidence in the shared vision.

And the results speak for themselves:

  • Revenue has grown from €4 million to €6 million — a 50% increase.
  • EBITDA margins remain strong at 45%.
  • Headcount is up by nearly half — and gender diversity has improved dramatically, from zero to five women on the team.

Looking ahead, they are continuing to expand geographically, innovate across payments and analytics, and deepen its focus on diversity and professionalisation. This team has proven to be the ideal successor — blending operational excellence with deep respect for the founders’ legacy, creating a partnership that truly benefits everyone involved.

ESG Excellence - Birch Faraday Capital

Birch Faraday Capital’s investment strategy focuses on businesses that provide high-quality, essential services to some of the most vulnerable people in our communities. That commitment to care and responsibility isn’t just a side note — it’s at the very heart of how they invest and how they operate. What really stood out to the judges is how this company turns values into action. They carefully track performance metrics to ensure operational excellence and, most importantly, to maintain a consistently high quality of care. Their reporting doesn’t stop at financial results — it also includes social impact measures, valuing the outcomes that truly make a difference in people’s lives. By holding themselves accountable not only to profits, but to people and purpose, they’ve set a powerful example of what responsible investment can look like.

Intern of the Year - Brian Wachira

The Intern of the Year Award goes to someone who didn’t just wait to be taught — Brian took initiative from day one. He proactively got to grips with financial modelling, asking to work with real investment materials so they could practice building models and sharpening his skills. During his time at Farnam, Brian personally qualified or disqualified 1,378 companies and reached out to 454 business owners — an incredible level of effort and impact for any professional. Originally, this internship was set for three months, but Brian’s performance was so outstanding that it was extended and he is now part of the team indefinitely. That kind of dedication, curiosity, and results-driven mindset is exactly what this award is all about.

Serial Acquirer of the Year - SK4 Holdings

SK4 Holdings work across health and education. Over the past year, they’ve completed nine deals, building momentum and value across three distinct verticals: education, nurseries, and dental practices. The judges acknowledged that these aren’t easy sectors to roll up or scale. Yet, they’ve achieved growth across all three areas, supported by a clear and disciplined approach. Each new acquisition follows a detailed 100-day plan to ensure a smooth transition and strong integration. What really impressed the judges was their thoughtful due diligence process, which looked closely at staff reviews, team turnover, and cultural indicators to truly understand the heartbeat of each business. That focus on people and culture sets them apart. One story stood out in particular — their acquisition of Elmore. This was a company previously approached by larger childcare operators and even private equity firms, but they always said no. When SK4 came along, they saw something different — a partner that would build on their legacy rather than replace it.

    About Lisa

Lisa’s career began as a Senior Crown Prosecutor in Greater Manchester. Following an enjoyable six years, she left to set up her own venture in the field of marketing and business development working with several household names including Fidelity, Barclays and Addleshaw Goddard.

Lisa qualified as a business coach and took that experience back into Pannone LLP as Head of Entrepreneurial Services. In this role, Lisa worked directly with SMEs, OMBs and Entrepreneurs to help deliver exemplary client service and built a model to provide a new holistic service to NW clients.

Lisa joined DWF LLP to lead the Client Programmes, a role which took her all over the world, leading to the firm’s IPO in 2019. Leading a team of ten client relationships managers took Lisa away from the coal face and in 2020 she accepted a role as Client Relationship Director at Taylor Vinters (now merged with Mishcon de Reya). In this role she built a model to illustrate how the firm could help Entrepreneurs with their whole client journey from inception to exit. At JMW, Lisa is focussed on achieving best-in-class client satisfaction as well as growing and expanding the client’s loyal customer base.
