Senior Finance Assistant
We are looking for a Senior Finance Assistant to join our internal Finance Department. This person will work closely with the Finance Team Manager, support other Finance Team members and become a key point of contact for internal finance-related queries from across the Firm.

What will the role entail?
Responsibilities
- Assisting the Finance Team Manager with the month end process and reporting to the Operational Management Board.
- Daily bank reconciliations in Twinfield.
- Daily banking duties as follows:
- Post daily transactions from online banking system into Twinfield.
- Maintain and reconcile the cashbook.
- Distribute the daily banking report to partners and managers.
- Produce and distribute the monthly WIP and Aged Debt reports to partners and managers.
- Update monthly spend reports for departments and internal committees.
- Reconcile the monthly credit card statement, ensuring all receipts are collated.
- Generate and issue the quarterly payroll bills using CCH.
- Review staff expenses using Webexpenses, ensuring all are within policy, and uploading them to Twinfield for the weekly payment run.
- Oversee the purchase ledger fuction, ensuring supplier queries are resolved and supplier invoices are paid promptly in the weekly payment run.
- Assist the Finance Team Manager with the administration of the tax enquiry protection scheme, provided by Markel Tax.
- Supporting the client account function with ad-hoc requests and assisting to improve the processes.
- Acting as cover for other team members during busy periods or periods of absence.
Requirements
- Finance based qualification (e.g. fully qualified or part-qualified AAT).
- Previous experience in a mid-level, internal finance role within a professional services based Firm.
- Good numeracy skills and understanding of accounting concepts.
- Previous experience assisting with the month end reporting process.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience with VLOOKUP and SUMIF formulas.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Flexibility to assist with any ad-hoc duties, as required by the management team.
- Ability to use your own initiative and be able to self-manage your workload.
